When does Kwent create an account?
The Kwent Android app works without an account. An account only exists if you have enabled cloud sync: it is created either as an anonymous sync account or, if you sign in with Google, linked to your Google account. Signing in with Google only verifies your identity — your synced data is stored by Kwent, not in your Google account. The iOS, iPadOS and macOS apps use your personal Apple iCloud instead and create no Kwent account at all.
What gets deleted
When we delete your account, we permanently remove:
- the sync account itself, including its link to your Google account,
- all synced content — articles, folders, tags, summaries, reading state and stored files — from our cloud database and file storage.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What is not affected
- Data stored locally on your device — remove it by uninstalling the app.
- Purchases and subscriptions — these are processed by Google Play and are managed in your Google Play account, not by us.
- Support emails — these are handled as described in our privacy policy and deleted once no longer needed.
- Your Google account itself — deleting your Kwent account never changes anything in your Google account.
How to request deletion
Send an email with the subject “Delete my Kwent account” — ideally from the Google email address you signed in with, so we can verify that the account is yours. We will confirm your request and complete the deletion within 30 days.
Deleting data without deleting the account
You can also request deletion of only your synced cloud data while keeping the account, using the same email address. And you can always turn off cloud sync in the app's settings and uninstall the app to remove all local data from your device.
